Pa6 daily report: Cost Support and Low Inventory Sustain Rising Polyester Chip Prices

1 Summary of the day

①、 Sinopec’s high-end caprolactam settlement price for February 2026 is RMB 10,350 per ton (liquid premium grade, six-month acceptance bill, ex-works), an increase of RMB 580 per ton compared to the January settlement price.

②、 Sinopec's refineries in East China, South China, and Central China have raised their pure benzene prices by RMB 200/ton, effective March 4, to RMB 6,800/ton.

2 Spot Market Overview

Sinopec's posted price for pure benzene has continued to rise, increasing polymerization cost pressures, and with limited available polymer inventory in the market, prices have shown an overall upward trend. Currently, the price of conventional PA6 filament in East China is RMB 11,800–12,000 per metric ton for cash payment with short-distance delivery; for high-speed spinning filament, the spot price is RMB 11,300–12,000 per metric ton delivered on acceptance basis.

3 Production Dynamics

The capacity utilization rate of Polyamide 6 is 70.89%.

4 Price Forecast

With the continuous rise in costs, polymerization plants are pushing up the ex-factory prices of chips, coupled with a recent shortage of available spot goods. It is expected that the PA6 market will continue to move upward in the near term.

①、 Cyclohexanone market: Today East China caprolactam market price is 10,700 yuan/ton, cash on delivery, up 300 yuan/ton from the previous working day. Under the continuous rise in costs, caprolactam prices follow the upward trend, and the negotiation center is gradually moving higher.

②、 Nylon Filament Market In the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Fujian regions, the market price for nylon POY 85D/24 is RMB 12,500–13,500 per metric ton, with some quotations higher; negotiations remain flexible. Low-priced supplies in the market are diminishing, costs remain firm, and the negotiating price center is trending upward. Overall, nylon filament is traded primarily on a negotiated basis, with buyers purchasing mainly to meet immediate demand; the industry operates on slim profit margins.
