Only 50 units worldwide: BMW Skytop prototype coupe revealed, featuring blade taillights and 617 horsepower.
IT之家 March 26 reported that automotive media bmwblog published a post on March 25 stating that BMW is testing its Skytop prototype on the streets of Munich. The vehicle is based on a concept car design.Equipped with a 617 horsepower V8 engine, only 50 units were produced worldwide and they have all been sold out.
In terms of appearance, the two-door coupe prototype draws design inspiration from BMW's legendary models, the 507 Roadster and Z8. The car features sharp body lines, ultra-thin headlights, illuminated kidney grilles, and tail lights described as the "world's slimmest," with a blade-like design.
In terms of interior design, it features a vintage luxury style, with deep red-brown leather upholstery paired with the old iDrive system, emphasizing comfort over sportiness, though performance will still meet BMW's high standards. Like the BMW 3.0 CSL, the Skytop is handcrafted at the Dingolfing plant, taking 15 months from concept to production, and supports highly personalized customization.
In terms of performance, the car is equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 617 horsepower, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, allowing for a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.3 seconds. The price of the car reaches up to 500,000 euros (IT Home note: current exchange rate is approximately 3.922 million RMB), and delivery is expected by the end of 2025.
