Investment feast continues as India launches largest single recycled PET project.

Indian Bhilwara Energy Limited officially launched LNI GREENPET yesterday, a bottle-to-bottle food-grade PET manufacturing plant located in Rajasthan, with an investment of ₹7.5 billion (approximately ¥632 million). The project will create 750 job opportunities and spans 95 acres. LNI GREENPET is set to become the largest single bottle-to-bottle recycled PET plant in India, with plans to commence operations in September 2026. It aims to recycle 20 million PET bottles annually (400 to 500 tons per day) and produce 100,000 tons of food-grade recycled PET resin per year.
This project is the group's second initiative in PET bottle recycling, following the construction of a recycled polyester fiber factory (RCPF) in 2014. The company processes 6 million PET bottles per day and produces over 43,000 tons of FebreGreen products annually. The company claims that through advanced technology expertise, it will obtain low-cost bottle sources, with the RCPF processing 140 tons of PET bottles per day (based on 430,000 bottles per ton).
The company claims the project will utilize advanced recycling technology and is in the process of applying for certifications from the EU's EFSA, the US FDA, and India's FSSAI. LNJ GREENPET will provide high-value, food-grade resin, offering products to packaging and FMCG companies (Source: ETnownews).
