Covestro Circular Materials Empower, Runmi Technology Launches New 90-Point R-GO Series Coffee Case Globally
The new series of enclosures are made from Covestro's polycarbonate containing 90% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content.
The carbon footprint of the 20-inch coffee box shell is reduced by more than 67% compared to the previous generation.
Empowering Chinese Enterprises’ Green Global Expansion
On Earth Day, Covestro and 90 Points, a brand under Runmi Technology, jointly held the global launch event for their new eco-friendly luggage series—90 Points R-GO Coffee Luggage—at CHINAPLAS 2026. The event, themed “Journey Together Toward a Low-Carbon Future,” officially announced the global market release of the new series, whose shells are made from polycarbonate containing 90% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content.

Wang Li, Global President of Covestro’s Engineering Plastics Business Unit, stated: “The value of the circular economy must ultimately be validated in real products and markets. The global launch of this coffee box demonstrates that high-quality recycled materials can fully meet consumers’ expectations for performance and design. We are delighted to see our long-standing collaboration with the 90FUN brand continue to deepen, and we hope such cooperation can support more Chinese brands in building differentiated competitiveness in global markets through green innovation.”
Shang Yamin, CEO of Runmi Technology, stated: "The 90 Points brand is committed to leading global sustainable travel trends through continuous innovation. Today’s new generation of consumers not only seeks high-quality products and design aesthetics but also cares deeply about environmental responsibility and the values behind the products. Through our collaboration with Covestro, we are launching globally a new generation of luggage made with post-consumer recycled polycarbonate material, offering consumers a travel solution that combines performance and sustainability. Runmi Technology will continue to deepen its strategic partnership with Covestro, leveraging innovative materials to drive ongoing product upgrades and making sustainability a core competitive advantage for Chinese brands in the global market."
Combining sustainability and durability
The outer shell of this travel suitcase is made from Makrolon® R90, a high-quality post-consumer recycled (PCR) polycarbonate containing up to 90% recycled content derived from discarded 19-liter polycarbonate water containers. Since 2020, Covestro has partnered with others to collect and recycle approximately one million such containers annually, transforming them into high-quality PCR polycarbonate for use in consumer goods, electronics, and home appliances.
A 20-inch coffee crate features a carbon footprint for the box shell that is more than 67% lower than the previous generation, providing a practical solution for efficient recycling.
In terms of performance, the recycled material maintains stable impact resistance at both normal temperature and extreme low temperature of -20 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the material exhibits excellent color compatibility. The newly launched products come in three color options: Australian White, American, and Latte, reflecting the natural texture of the material.
Empowering brands to go green overseas
Covestro and 90FUN, a brand under Riom Technology, first joined hands in 2021 to launch a limited-edition suitcase containing PCR polycarbonate material. The global release of the new generation coffee suitcase is the result of deepening cooperation over the years and also reflects the gradual scaling up of sustainable materials in the consumer goods sector.
In recent years, the environmental entry barriers for consumer goods in international markets such as Europe and America have continuously increased. For example, the ongoing advancement of restrictions on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) has set higher requirements for Chinese brands entering the European and American markets. The PCR polycarbonate used in the 90 Points Coffee Box does not contain intentionally added PFAS, meeting the requirements of the EU PFAS restriction regulation draft. Moreover, combined with strict incoming material control and standardized production processes, this material can provide excellent characteristics and stable performance close to those of virgin materials, and has been certified by a third party for post-consumer recycling.
