Coupe SUV Design All-New Range Rover Velar Spy Photos Exposed

Recently, CarTalk obtained a set of spy shots of the all-new Land Rover Range Rover Velar from relevant sources. As the most elegant SUV in Land Rover’s lineup, the Range Rover Velar emphasizes a fashionable and sporty styling. The upcoming new-generation model further enhances its sportiness, positioning it closer to a high-riding sedan or a coupe SUV rather than a traditional SUV.

Judging from the spy shots, despite Jaguar Land Rover engineers' best efforts to conceal the new car's design details, the attempt was largely unsuccessful. Although the prototype is fully wrapped in black-and-white camouflage from head to toe, its low-slung proportions and significantly redesigned rear end remain clearly visible.

The overall design of this new car is a perfect blend of a sedan and an SUV, with body proportions reminiscent of the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Volvo S90. Land Rover has not yet explained why such a bold design change was made, but this move may help it form a clearer product positioning distinction from the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Evoque.

The front of the new car continues the traditional design style of the Land Rover family, equipped with slim and sharp front headlights and a large front grille, making it highly recognizable. The pop-up door handles and roof rack from the prototype are clearly visible; consistent with other Land Rover models, the new car's roof also features two large shark fin antennas.

In addition to a more stylish and dynamic exterior design, the new car will initially be available only in a pure electric version, based on the new electric modular architecture EMA. The specific power parameters have not been announced yet. According to the plan, the new car will be officially launched in the next few months and is scheduled to start production at Jaguar Land Rover's Halewood factory in 2027.
