Australia Initiates Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Review on Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Flat Cables to China
According to the China Trade Remedies Information website, on July 8, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued notice No. 2025/061, announcing that in response to the application submitted by the Chinese exporter Dongguan Minxing Cables Co., Ltd., it has initiated a review investigation of anti-dumping and countervailing measures on PVC Flat Electrical Cables exported to Australia. The review aims to examine whether the variable factors related to the current anti-dumping and countervailing measures should be changed. The investigation period for this case is from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. The Australian customs code for the products involved is 8544.49.20.41. The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission expects to complete the basic facts report of the investigation no later than October 26, 2025, and to submit the final report to the Australian Minister for Industry and Science no later than December 10, 2025.

On June 4, 2018, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2018/86, stating that, at the request of the Australian company Prysmian Australia Pty Ltd, it is initiating an anti-dumping and countervailing investigation on polyvinyl chloride flat cables imported from China. On April 8, 2019, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2019/46, announcing the termination of the countervailing investigation against the involved company, Guilin International Wire & Cable Group Co., but continuing the anti-dumping and countervailing investigations against other involved companies. On May 14, 2019, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2019/47, deciding to formally impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on polyvinyl chloride flat cables imported from China, effective immediately.
On June 9, 2023, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2023/031, stating that in response to an application submitted by the domestic company Prysmian Australia Pty Limited on May 10, 2023, it initiated the first sunset review investigation into anti-dumping and countervailing measures on imported PVC flat cables from China. On April 29, 2024, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2024/006, deciding to continue the anti-dumping and countervailing measures on Chinese PVC flat cables from May 15, 2024.
