Arkema to Showcase 100% Bio-Based and Recyclable Composite Resin at JEC World 2026
At the 2026 JEC World Composites Exhibition, Arkema will unveil a series of groundbreaking innovations to help address the dual challenges of industrial and environmental transitions.

Core Highlights of the Exhibition
Ship body components use recyclable liquid resin
Arkema's Elium® resin enables composite recycling, advancing the circular economy. At this year's exhibition, Arkema will further fulfill this commitment by creating an immersive experience showcasing its significant contributions to boat hull recycling.
This breakthrough is attributable to a strategic collaboration among Arkema, Composite Recycling, Groupe Beneteau, Veolia, Owens Corning, and Chomarat, enabling the industrial-scale and economically viable implementation of composite material recycling.
ZEPHIR Project
This project brings together industry leaders including ALTEN, Arkema, Alpha Recyclage Composite, Evonik, the Clément Ader Institute, Neo Sailing Technologies, and ZEPHIR, united by a shared objective: to push the boundaries of competitive performance while accelerating the practical implementation of genuinely circular composite materials.
As a core member of the alliance, Arkema provides Elium® resin—the first recyclable thermoplastic liquid resin used in high-performance composite structures—laying the foundation for a new generation of infusion products that combine speed, precision, and recyclability.
Bostik Car Scrap Recycling Solution
Bostik has launched the Primer Prep DB primer, a groundbreaking solution specifically developed to address challenges in automotive repair and end-of-life vehicle recycling. Developed through an open innovation strategy, this product features heat-activated technology that enables controlled separation at bonded interfaces, preventing damage to surrounding materials during component disassembly.
Hydrogen Storage Tanks Using 100% Bio-based PA11 and Unidirectional Tapes
The exhibition booth will showcase 100% bio-based Rilsan® polyamide 11—applied in transportation, sports, and consumer goods composites—as well as inner liners for high-pressure hydrogen storage tanks, highlighting the significant value of bio-based materials in the hydrogen energy sector.
UDX® uni-directional carbon fiber tape is impregnated with high-performance bio-based PA11 and PPA thermoplastic polymers, suitable for transportation, hydrogen storage, sports, and leisure fields.
Under the European Roadthrypp project, Arkema, in collaboration with Air Liquide and Covess, is developing a new generation of Type V high-pressure hydrogen storage vessels using UDX® unidirectional tape made from polyamide 11, integrating the liner function directly into the composite structure. A segment of a high-pressure hydrogen storage tank will be displayed on-site at the exhibition, visually demonstrating the application potential of UDX® unidirectional tape.
Next-generation PEKK for Aerospace Structures
Kepstan® PEKK high-performance polymer offers excellent mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and flame resistance, enabling the development of next-generation thermoplastic composites for aerospace structures.
Its semi-crystalline structure ensures excellent performance at high temperatures, while also offering complete weldability, suitable for high-efficiency mass production needs.
In addition to other aerospace structural components, the booth will also feature composite profiles manufactured by Hutchinson in collaboration with Hexcel, using HexPly® PEKK/34%/UD194/IM7.
Temperature resistance - from -270°C to over 400°C polyimide film
Arkema, through its PI Advanced Materials company, offers Zenimid™ polyimide, providing reliable solutions for composite technologies in the aerospace, automotive, electronics, and industrial markets.
Its core advantages include: an ultra-wide temperature range, remaining stable in environments from nearly -270°C to over 400°C; extreme dimensional stability, flexibility, and durability, capable of adapting to extreme conditions; meanwhile, it also features excellent chemical resistance, flame retardancy, and strong electrical insulation properties.
