On March 27, according to testing data from PassMark, AMD's recently launched Ryzen 5 9600 processor is comparable to the Ryzen 5 9600X in the same series, and shows a significant improvement compared to the previous generation.

The Ryzen 5 9600 achieved a multi-core performance score of 29,369 and a single-core performance score of 4,433. Compared to the 9600X's scores of 30,016 and 4,581, the differences are only about 2.2% and 3.2%, respectively.

This is also a normal difference, as the configuration parameters of both are basically the same, with both having 6 cores, 12 threads, 32MB of L3 cache, and a TDP of 65W.

The biggest difference is that the base frequency of the 9600 has decreased from 3.9GHz of the 9600X to 3.8GHz, and the maximum boost frequency has dropped from 5.4GHz to 5.2GHz.

Compared to the previous generation Ryzen 5 7600, the Ryzen 5 9600 has seen an approximately 8.5% improvement in multi-core performance and about a 13.4% increase in single-core performance. The upgrade from 7600X to 9600X shows a commendable improvement.

In addition, there are reports that AMD may launch a Ryzen 5 9600X3D version, which will further enhance the competitiveness of this series of processors.
