The following is the detailed content of global news:
1.Breaking Japan's Monopoly! South Korea's JKM Secures First Order for OLED Film Materials
On September 22, JK Materials (JKM), a subsidiary of South Korea's Hanul Materials Science, officially announced that it has successfully secured its first order for independently developed film materials used in OLED panels. Additionally, JKM has invested approximately 60 billion KRW in cash into Hanul Materials Science. This breakthrough marks the end of the global market pattern where Japanese enterprises have long held an exclusive supply of such materials, and is of great significance to the global OLED industry chain.
2.UK Plastic Recycling Firm Partners with Amcor to Advance Flexible Packaging Recycling in the UK
According to news from Plastics View on September 23, UK-based plastic recycling company Greenback Recycling Technologies (abbreviated as Greenback) has installed its first Enval® advanced recycling module in the UK at the Hinckley factory of Amcor, a global leader in packaging. The module aims to convert post-consumer flexible packaging into high-quality recycled materials. The Enval® modular chemical recycling unit will enter a six-month commissioning and testing phase to process post-consumer flexible packaging from households, including multi-layer materials.

4.From Marine Waste to Carbon Capture Tool! BAETA Technology Gives PET Plastic a New Eco-Friendly Mission
A research team in Denmark has developed a method to address two major issues simultaneously: converting waste PET plastic into a carbon dioxide adsorbent. This new material, named BAETA, is produced through the chemical transformation of PET plastic (commonly used in plastic bottles, packaging materials, and textiles). In its new form, BAETA can fix carbon dioxide from industrial emissions and the air in solid form without the need for any solvents or carrier materials.

5.TotalEnergies and SML Develop Thin-Film Solutions for Packaging
Global polymer producer TotalEnergies and Austrian extrusion technology expert SML have collaborated to develop two innovative films. Through efficient thinning, these films save significant amounts of material in stand-up pouch and deep-freeze bag applications. The first is a PE film with an EVOH layer, specifically designed for resealable barrier stand-up pouch applications. It combines polyethylene with a thin layer of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) to provide excellent oxygen barrier properties. The second film is used in deep-freeze bag applications; it is an unlaminated MDO-PE cast film that reduces thickness by 35% to 50% compared to traditional deep-freeze bag structures, eliminating the energy-intensive lamination process.
6.India's Largest TDI Manufacturer Shuts Down!
Recently, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC), India's largest TDI manufacturer, stated in a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchange that it has shut down its toluene diisocyanate (TDI) production plant located in Dahej, Gujarat, India, after detecting a sudden gas leak in the equipment. GNFC emphasized that the accident was contained within the factory premises, with no leakage beyond the factory boundaries, and no property damage or casualties reported. It is reported that the TDI plant will only resume operations "after completing necessary inspections and remedial measures."

The Indian Customs Tariff Code for the involved products is 854449. The dumping investigation period of this case is from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025 (12 months), and the injury investigation period covers the 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024 fiscal years, as well as the period from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
【Japan Faces Another Rice Price Hike, Retail Prices Near Historical Highs】
Data released by Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries shows that in the week from September 8 to September 14, the average price of a 5kg bag of rice in the Japanese market was 4,275 yen (equivalent to approximately 205.5 RMB). Currently, Japan's rice prices have risen for three consecutive weeks, approaching the all-time historical high of 4,285 yen per bag (equivalent to approximately 206 RMB) set in May this year. Since the summer of 2024, Japan's rice prices have continued to rise due to factors such as extreme high temperatures leading to reduced rice harvests.
【JPMorgan CEO Dimon: Fed Unlikely to Cut Interest Rates Until Inflation Cools】
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, stated that "if inflation does not subside," it will be difficult for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, adding that "people are paying too much attention to 25 basis points." Dimon noted that the Trump administration "is more supportive of growth, but we have not really solved the fiscal deficit problem," and "economic growth will play a certain role, but I don't know if it can solve the problem entirely."
【AliExpress: Achieve Higher Transaction Volumes at Half the Cost of Amazon for Brands】
According to Wall Street News, on September 23, AliExpress (owned by Alibaba) launched the "Super Brand Global Expansion Program," announcing that it will help brands achieve higher transaction volumes at half the cost they would incur on Amazon. This move is seen as a direct challenge to Amazon in competing for mid-to-high-end brands. As the only platform among the "Four Global E-commerce Leaders" (referring to leading Chinese cross-border e-commerce platforms) that has established a brand service team, in the first half of this year, the number of new brands on AliExpress increased by 70% year-on-year. Over 500 brands doubled their sales, and more than 2,000 brands expanded into new overseas markets through AliExpress.
