Wacker Sells Stake in Shichuang Electronics, Further Reduces Shareholding
On September 23, Wacker Chemie AG announced that it had successfully disposed of approximately 2.2 million shares in Siltronic AG, a semiconductor wafer manufacturer, at a price of €77.25 per share. The divestment represents 6.7% of Siltronic’s total share capital, reducing Wacker’s stake in the company to approximately 15%.
Wacker stated that the total gross proceeds from this share disposal amounted to approximately €171 million. The transaction was conducted as a private placement using an accelerated bookbuilding process, with shares offered exclusively to qualified investors and international institutional investors.
Christian Hartel, CEO of Wacker, stated: “This transaction will strengthen our financial position and create greater room for investment in future growth areas.”
In May this year, Wacker also disposed of its shares in Siltronic, with a transaction price of €89.35 per share at that time.
