Pony.ai and GAC Lingcheng Forge Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Large-Scale Deployment of L4 Autonomous Trucks

On April 16, Pony.ai signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Guangzhou Lingcheng in Guangzhou.

It is reported that as leading local enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, both parties will leverage GAC Lingcheng's comprehensive industrial ecosystem advantages in the Greater Bay Area, combined with Pony.ai's leading autonomous driving technology. Through the deep collaboration of "vehicle platform + autonomous driving system integration + operational scenarios," they will jointly promote the large-scale commercial application of autonomous trucks (Robotrucks) in logistics scenarios in the Greater Bay Area and across the country, further strengthening Pony.ai's business layout for autonomous trucks in the Greater Bay Area.

In this collaboration, GAC Lingcheng will leverage its advantages in vehicle platforms and manufacturing systems to develop highly reliable vehicle platforms and drive-by-wire chassis compatible with autonomous driving systems; Pony.ai, leveraging its leading autonomous driving algorithms and system capabilities, will provide a mature and efficient L4-level autonomous driving truck system solution.

According to the plan, the jointly developed Robotruck will be built based on Pony.ai's fourth-generation autonomous truck system. The fourth-generation autonomous truck system fully adopts the fully redundant design and safety standards of the new generation of Robotaxis, equipped with a fully redundant wire-controlled chassis, ensuring safe operation of the vehicle under various conditions, with a design life of 20,000 hours, capable of supporting 1 million kilometers of freight operations. Pony.ai continues to help the freight logistics industry reduce costs and increase efficiency, with the cost of the fourth-generation autonomous truck kit reduced by 70% compared to the previous generation.
