New product release:

BASF Specialty Materials

Explore more possibilities for material substitution

At CHINAPLAS 2026, BASF launched an innovative thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) product portfolio specifically designed for the sports shoe industry — Elastollan® GripTec, opening up more possibilities for sole design and manufacturing.

The all-new Elastollan® GripTec series combines exceptional grip, outstanding durability, design flexibility, and sustainability, meeting the core needs of runners and hikers while also being suitable for casual fashion and children's footwear.

On the first day of the event, there was also a launch ceremony for the new Elastollan® GripTec TPU material.

BASF has partnered with Fuyan to launch the first GripTec outsole, which has been applied to Anta's new children's shoe series, achieving commercialization.

BASF Plastic Additives

Enhancing the Durability and Sustainability of Plastics

Meanwhile, BASF made a strong debut at Chinaplas with innovative plastic additive solutions. Plastic additives are essential for manufacturing safer, more durable, and more sustainable plastics. They enable plastics to deliver outstanding performance in key end markets—including construction, agriculture, infrastructure, consumer goods, and mobility—even under increasingly demanding conditions.

VALERAS® is BASF’s sustainability-driven product portfolio for plastic additives and related solutions, helping to improve resource efficiency, reduce waste, extend product lifespans, and advance circularity in the plastics industry.

The exhibited plastic additives include Tinuvin® NOR® 600 and BASF’s broader NOR HALS platform, all part of the VALERAS® portfolio, demonstrating sustainable contributions across the entire plastic lifecycle. For rotational molding applications—such as water tanks and logistics containers—BASF offers high-quality Irgastab® additive solutions, enabling long-term protection and efficient production.

Deepening Cooperation

New Signings, High-Level Talks, and Joint Celebrations

On the first day, BASF also engaged with customers across different industries through various formats, including JDA signings, co-branded celebrations, and executive meetings—interactions that encapsulated our year-long, multi-dimensional co-creation efforts with customers.

Signed a cooperation development agreement with Wenzhou Hengwei Footwear Materials Co., Ltd., focusing on the development of new products using innovative spray polyurethane (Spray PU) and cast polyurethane (CPU) processes, which will be applied to new product designs of several globally renowned shoe brands. On the day of the signing, both parties simultaneously announced the trademark for the spray polyurethane sole product as "Barweli," further demonstrating the trust and confidence in long-term co-creation.

Held in-depth discussions with the management and expert team of Geely Central Research Institute on the first day of CHINAPLAS 2026, aiming to further advance the commercialization of the innovative polyurethane recycling solution “Loop” in the automotive steering wheel sector.

Collaborated officially with Xuebei, and the material has been applied in well-known baby stroller brands such as Jackybaby. It is expected to promote the commercialization of Infinergy® E-TPU material in baby stroller tires in the future.

Co-creating AI-powered smart glasses with Mojie, Ultramid® LIGHT S delivers a high-value solution for next-generation smart wearables—combining lightweight design, comfort, and sustainability through its exceptional lightweight properties and stable performance.
