HEXPOL Acquires Italian Thermoplastic Materials Manufacturer Vipa Group
HEXPOL recently announced the completion of its acquisition of 100% of the shares of Italy’s Vipa Group. Vipa Group is a leading European developer and manufacturer of high-quality thermoplastic compounds, with a focus on the high-growth wire and cable sector. This acquisition will significantly expand HEXPOL’s product portfolio in this field and strengthen its regional market presence.
Vipa Group has two well-equipped manufacturing sites and an advanced R&D center in Italy. In 2025, the company recorded revenue of EUR 76.4 million and employed approximately 80 people, with existing facilities offering reserved capacity for future expansion. Leveraging Vipa Group, Hexpol will strengthen its wire and cable materials product portfolio and expand into several high-growth markets, including electrification, data centers, communications, and smart buildings.
Peter Rosén, President and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Hexpol, said: “The acquisition of Vipa Group is a key step in advancing the growth strategy for our new thermoplastic compounds business segment, which was presented at the Capital Markets Day in November 2025. It also reflects our ambition to build a leading global platform in thermoplastic materials through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. Vipa Group holds a leading position in wire and cable and has a strong materials technology base, making it well positioned to benefit from long-term structural growth trends such as electrification and data centers.”
Stefano Paolini, Chairman of the Board of Vipa Group and a member of the founding family, said: “We are very pleased to have found the right industrial partner for Vipa Group. Hexpo is committed to the continued development of the local business and to carrying forward our sustainable business philosophy. Hexpo has a deep understanding of the industry and is willing to continue investing resources in developing this company, which our family has operated for more than half a century. The legacy and continuity of Vipa Group’s development will be preserved, and our employees will become part of an industrial group with strong long-term growth potential.”
