Geon Acquires Arkadia to Bolster Medical-Grade TPU and TPE Portfolio

High-performance polymer solutions manufacturer and developer Geon Performance Solutions recently announced the acquisition of the thermoplastic custom compounding company Arkadia Plastics, Inc.

The company stated that this move will strengthen Geon's position in the medical polymer market, expand its global presence, and enhance its portfolio of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) products.

Geon's medical segment, Foster, LLC, will integrate Arkadia Plastics' formulation systems, raw material resources, and global customer base. This acquisition aligns well with Geon's mission to provide high-performance biomedical materials, technologies, and services to customers worldwide.

Lary Acquarulo, Founder of Foster and Head of Strategy at Geon Medical, stated:

We look forward to leveraging Arkadia's innovative TPU and TPE formulation technologies, which they have been deeply involved in for the past two decades, to continuously push the boundaries of material applications."

This is Geon's fifth acquisition since 2020.

Since the acquisition of Foster Corp. in January 2025, Geon has continuously expanded its product line in the healthcare materials sector. Currently, Geon's medical division offers engineered products with functionalities such as radiopaque compounds, low-friction additives, antimicrobial technologies, and laser marking solutions.

To ensure a smooth transition, the dedicated customer service team will gradually transfer Arkadia's production processes to Foster's manufacturing facilities in Putnam, Connecticut and Las Vegas, Nevada over the next 90 days.
