Fuqiangxin: The End Of Competition Is System Integration Capability

Plastics Industry0 2026-05-27 19:27:50

If you’ve paid attention to the cars around you, you’ll notice that many precision plastic parts—from bumpers to dashboards, from headlights to seat frames—are produced by a type of equipment known as a “multi-component injection molding machine.” And in this niche field, a Taiwan-funded enterprise from Jiangbei District, Ningbo, has become an important force driving the industry forward.

In 2025, the global manufacturing industry experienced a weak recovery. However, Fuqiangxin (Ningbo) Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Fuqiangxin") delivered an unexpectedly impressive performance: both revenue and profit achieved double-digit growth, with export markets soaring by 40%.

Behind the growth against the trend, two sets of data are particularly crucial:

Fu Chun Shin Group’s multi-component injection molding machine sales revenue last year reached7.51 billion RMB, sold779The clamping force reaches a total of tons.44.210,000 tons, with all three indicators reaching record highs. As of the end of last year, the cumulative shipments of its multi-component injection molding machines had reached6610units, with cumulative sales exceeding57100 million yuan.

More notably, in the automotive industry, Fu Chun Shin’s cumulative sales of medium- and large-sized multi-color machines have reached1381Units; total clamping force exceeds148ten thousand tons, with an amount close to30100 million yuan. As China's automotive industry accelerates its run in the global market, Fuqiangxin has become the "equipment supporter" behind the scenes.

This article interviews Wang Junjie, Chairman of Ningbo Fuqiangxin, and reveals the company’s growth logic, technological roadmap, and precise grasp of market rhythms.

Make the parts lighter.

Strengthen manufacturing capabilities

Compared with “getting it done,” the company cares more about “being dependable.”

—Not chasing flashy specs, but steadfastly upholding mass-production stability and full-lifecycle reliability.

On the solid foundation of being “reliable,” Fuchangxin has further pulled ahead. This time, the breakthrough lies in a pioneering foray into the frontiers of the materials revolution.

“Many people think that once you switch to carbon fiber, that’s the end of it. It’s not that simple. The real hurdle lies not only in the material itself, but more in the molding process,” Wang Junjie said plainly.

Fu Chun Shin has collaborated with the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for many years and has launched two carbon fiber-related projects in succession. One project is for the production of appearance parts: experimental data show that after molding, carbon fibers from different brands consistently achieved the target fiber length, indicating that the reinforcement effect was fully realized and the mechanical properties were truly activated. The other project focuses on seat frames and is expected to be completed in September this year.

“We’re discussing a new project. The direction is still lightweight, but the scenario has shifted to the low-altitude economy.”

Wang Junjie revealed that for external structural parts and propellers of drones and flying cars, the requirements for high strength and lightweight design are even more stringent than those for automobiles. Fuqiangxin’s process capabilities accumulated in carbon fiber injection molding are highly aligned with these needs.

Looking back, the essence of lightweighting is not to make the parts lighter, but to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Coping with New Changes

The automotive injection molding process is undergoing a...

From "Function Satisfaction" to "Integrated Manufacturing"

The most direct manifestation is the bumper. It no longer only needs to provide crash protection; heat dissipation, lighting, and design symbols are all integrated into the same component. “This directly drives up the required clamping force,” Wang Junjie said. “In the past, 1,900 tons was already considered large. In recent years it rose to 2,000–3,000 tons, and this year discussions have already begun about machines above 4,000 tons.”

The larger the equipment, the more troublesome stress issues become. Traditional high-pressure molding leaves a large amount of residual stress in large products, which can lead to deformation and cracking over time.

The solution is injection compression technology—low-pressure molding, with initial moderate injection pressure followed by mold compression to complete the process.

Another trend is also accelerating: the electrification of injection molding machines.

The precision molding demands high accuracy, repeatability, and cleanliness for injection molding, pushing hydraulic systems to their limits. In contrast, fully electric systems naturally suit this scenario with their fast response speed, precise control, and pollution-free characteristics.

FuchangxinCT-R SeriesThe all-electric multi-component injection molding machine was born for this purpose.

At Chinaplas 2026, the CT-180R on display integrates LSR technology and works in coordination with Kawasaki’s silicone feeding system and Wittmann robotic arm, reducing the molding cycle of automotive-grade LSR+PA sealing components to 70 seconds.

从注射压缩到电动化,富强鑫的技术选择都遵循同一个逻辑:不堆叠设备,不追逐概念,而是在“精度在哪里产生、成本在哪里沉淀”之间做出精准判断。

This may well be the true underlying essence of the evolution of the injection molding industry.

Regain the power of definition

The ultimate goal of import substitution is not to build machines identical to those abroad, but to reclaim the ability to define machines.

What defines a machine’s capability? It’s not just assembling parts, but enabling the same hardware to deliver different results.

Fuqiangxin's primary sphere of definition is its control strategy. With the same controller, other manufacturers' equipment cannot reproduce Fuqiangxin's results. "Because we control our own software, our architecture is different."

The second layer is the accumulation of craftsmanship. Hardware can be purchased, programs can be written, but craftsmanship experience cannot be bought.

The third layer is the assessment of cost-effectiveness. Defining a machine is not about piling on the most expensive parts, but about knowing where to invest more and where to exercise restraint.

These three layers of capabilities,

Supported FCS’s position in the multi-component field.

“Foreign colleagues are very surprised and have long wanted to come and visit: why are we so strong in the field of multicomponent systems? My answer is simple,”Specialization, Depth, Domestic Production。”

Core Competencies

R&D must be purpose-driven and goal-oriented, avoiding aimless development.

Chen Xiaozhou is the Technical Director of Fuqiangxin. Since graduating and joining the company at the age of 22, he started as a technical assistant and has personally witnessed the expansion of the company's technical team from 5 to more than 60 members.

When Wang Junjie talked about this longtime partner, there was a trust built over more than twenty years in his tone: "He has a lot of ideas and often discusses with me how to carry out projects and promote technologies. I will support him."

Support is not blind. They have a consensus: research and development must be purposeful and goal-oriented, not aimlessly developed.

“An additional ¥100,000 for a new feature is something the customer simply can’t accept—so what’s the point of developing it?” Wang Junjie retorted. Fu Chun Shin’s logic is highly pragmatic: everything they do must be implementable in practice. They tackle the technology, put it to use, and then go beyond what exists abroad. Whether it is PUR reaction injection molding or MuCell microcellular foaming, the early lead held by foreign companies will ultimately be broken by localized Chinese solutions.

He called this pursuit “core competitiveness.” But the term meant something different to him: not making money for the sake of making money, but pushing the country’s industrial technology forward, enabling customers to buy equipment with ever-better cost performance, and encouraging more young people to join China’s machinery industry and gain a genuine sense of accomplishment through technological breakthroughs.

“This is a very important original intention of ours in running the company,” Wang Junjie said.
