ExxonMobil Launches New High-Performance Resin for Rotational Molding
埃克森美孚推出Exceed Tough m 4536UV12高性能聚乙烯树脂,专为全球严苛工况下的滚塑应用打造。
ExxonMobil's flagship polymer division has launched a metallocene-based polyethylene resin aimed at enhancing manufacturers' product impact strength, environmental resistance, and processing efficiency.
ExxonMobil's flagship polymer division has officially launched Exceed Tough m 4536UV12, a metallocene-based polyethylene resin specifically designed for rotomolding applications that require extremely high durability and processing efficiency.
This brand-new grade is targeted at manufacturers of storage tanks, septic tanks, containers, housings, leisure equipment, marine devices, and amusement facilities. The resin combines excellent impact resistance, environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR), and processing flexibility, meeting the demanding requirements of industrial applications.
Performance characteristics after the upgrade
The Exceed Tough m 4536UV12 grade has excellent impact resistance certified by the Association of Rotational Molding (ARM), offering outstanding performance while balancing stiffness and toughness. This combination of characteristics helps manufacturers produce durable products that can withstand harsh usage environments.
Excellent environmental stress cracking resistance enhances crack resistance and the ability to withstand environmental stress, extending product service life under harsh operating conditions. This property is particularly important for applications exposed to chemicals, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical stress.
Efficiency improvements brought by processing advantages
This resin has a broad processing window, allowing for a lower internal air temperature (PIAT) of the material pile, with a wider range of applicable operating parameters. These characteristics can accelerate the material fusion process, shorten the oven processing cycle, enhance processing tolerance, and reduce energy consumption, resulting in more stable product quality and further improved processing efficiency.
Technical parameters: Density 0.936 g/cm³, melt flow index 4.5 g/10 min, peak melting temperature 255°F, with UV12 ultraviolet resistance level. This ethylene-1-hexene copolymer is produced using metallocene catalyst technology.
ExxonMobil’s flagship polymers business unit integrates ExxonMobil’s polyolefin products under a unified brand, making product selection easier for customers and promoting collaboration across the entire value chain. The company is committed to building a service-oriented partnership model in the polymer industry, helping customers find solutions that balance product performance, processing technology and business objectives.
Q2 Financial Report
In the recently released Q2 2026 financial report, ExxonMobil indicated that the company's earnings for the second quarter fell short of expectations due to refinery maintenance; however, backed by raw material advantages and stable operations, the performance of the chemical segment showed improvement.
“Despite numerous disruptions in the second quarter, we delivered results through efficient execution,” said Darren Woods, Chairman and CEO of ExxonMobil. “The overall market environment improved, and these results also demonstrate the strength of the portfolio and operating model we have built over many years.”
Darren Woods admitted that this quarter was affected by various disruptions caused by the conflict in the Middle East, but the company successfully navigated the challenges due to the strength of its product portfolio and operating model.
