Effective september 1, Basf increases north america neol® neopentyl glycol prices
According to Zhuansu Vision, starting from September 1, 2026 (or in accordance with existing contract terms), BASF will increase the price of all grades and packaging specifications of its NEOL® neopentyl glycol (NPG) in the United States and Canadian markets by $0.10 per pound, equivalent to $221 per metric ton.

Neopentyl glycol (NPG) is a polyol product with unique properties, whose overall performance is superior to other polyols of its kind. Thanks to its excellent chemical and thermal stability, NPG has a wide range of applications, primarily used to produce polyester resins and alkyd resins for various coatings and plastics. Powder coatings are an important downstream field, with mature applications in the construction materials and home appliance coating industries. In addition, NPG can also be used to produce lubricants, plasticizers, and pharmaceutical intermediates, and can serve as a key raw material for the synthesis of hormones, cardiovascular drugs, and analgesics. BASF sells the product under the registered trademark NEOL®.
