Dover Group Acquires Cloeren Company to Expand Extrusion Equipment Business Capabilities

Plastmatch Global Digest 2026-07-29 14:40:05

Dover Group acquired Cloeren, a leader in the field of extrusion die heads and distributors, in order to enhance MAAG's polymer processing performance.

This strategic acquisition brings the manufacturing technologies for high-performance die heads and distributors into Dover’s Pumps & Process Solutions segment, where they will be operated by MAAG.

Dover Corporation today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cloeren, a company specializing in high-performance extrusion dies and melt distribution equipment for polymer and plastics processing. Upon completion of the transaction, Cloeren will become part of the MAAG business unit within Dover’s Pumps & Process Solutions segment.

This strategic layout integrates Cloeren's professional extrusion technology with MAAG's existing product system, helping Dover provide a more comprehensive set of solutions for polymer processing. Cloeren is headquartered in Orange, Texas, and has production bases in Marshall, Texas, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Michelstadt, Austria, with facilities located close to the core hubs of North American petrochemicals and energy exports.

Strategic Expansion of Polymer Processing Business

Ueli Thuerig, President of MAAG, stated: "Cloeren is a strong strategic fit for MAAG, which will further enhance our comprehensive strength in the extrusion processing field." The introduction of Cloeren's technology and engineering capabilities will enrich our solution offerings, enabling us to better provide customers with high-precision, critical production equipment.

This acquisition complements the MAAG product line with complementary extrusion technology, allowing it to serve a wider range of niche polymer processing scenarios. Cloeren, with its strong technical capabilities and customized solutions, has accumulated numerous high-quality clients in the plastic manufacturing industry.

The transaction must complete the standard delivery and settlement approval process, and is expected to close in the third quarter of this year. No specific transaction amount was disclosed for this acquisition.

Recent Acquisition Updates and Financial Briefing

In May 2025, Dover Group acquired Sikora for $625 million in cash, with the transaction closing in the second quarter of 2025. The Bremen, Germany-based company has now been integrated into MAAG, within Dover’s Pumps & Process Solutions segment.

Thuerig stated at the time: “The acquisition of Sikora represents a major strategic move for MAAG. The company’s high-quality products are highly aligned with the needs of MAAG’s customers in the resin processing sector, and its portfolio will help MAAG further penetrate high-potential adjacent niche markets, where we have already built strong industry resources and customer channels. The two companies’ technologies and products are highly complementary, and their business channels significantly overlap, enabling substantial cross-selling benefits, further enhancing the combined service offering, and deepening collaborative integration with OEMs and end customers.”

In April this year, Dover Corporation released its financial report for the first quarter of 2026, with quarterly revenue reaching $2.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10%.

Richard J. Tobin, the Group President and Chief Executive Officer, attributed the performance growth to the implementation of strategic initiatives and efficient operational management.

He stated during the earnings conference call: “The start of 2026 has been marked by impressive performance, with the rollout of various strategic initiatives and efficient operations continuing to drive revenue growth. Order volumes across all business units have reached record highs, and strong market demand across all segments has laid a solid foundation for the Group’s subsequent development.”

All five major business segments of the Group achieved an order-to-shipment ratio above 1, with comprehensive performance improvements across all segments and strong market growth momentum.

Dover Group is a diversified multinational manufacturing company with annual revenues exceeding $8 billion, comprising five major business segments and approximately 24,000 employees worldwide. The company is headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois.
