Dongfeng motor and sunwoda jointly develop, dongyu xingsheng 120ah ultra-fast charging cell officially enters production
Gaishi Auto learned that on May 25, another major achievement of the strategic cooperation between Dongfeng Motor and Sunwoda Power Battery—namely, the launch of production for the Dongyu Xinsheng 120Ah ultra-fast-charging battery cell—was held in Yichang, Hubei Province. This marks a key breakthrough in the two companies’ joint R&D and manufacturing in the power battery sector, and will inject new momentum into Dongfeng’s new energy transformation as well as the upgrading of the battery industry in Central China.

The 120Ah ultra-fast-charging cell mass-produced this time was jointly defined, co-developed, and manufactured by Dongfeng Motor and Sunwoda. By deeply integrating Sunwoda’s nearly 30 years of lithium battery technology expertise with Dongfeng Motor’s strengths in full-vehicle, all-scenario applications, the product has successfully overcome key industry technical bottlenecks such as thermal runaway prevention and control under high-rate charge/discharge conditions and capacity degradation over long cycle life.
This battery cell features 4C ultra-fast charging capability, requiring only 15 minutes to recharge from 10% to 80%. Its design life exceeds 1,000,000 kilometers, the production line automation rate is over 90%, and it is equipped with an AI-enabled intelligent quality management system, fully meeting new energy vehicles' core requirements for efficient energy replenishment, high safety and reliability, and long cycle life.
At present, this battery cell has successfully secured project nominations from Dongfeng’s eπ, Yijing, and Fengxing brands, and is actively advancing business cooperation with Dongfeng’s joint venture businesses, including Shenlong Automobile, Dongfeng Nissan, and Dongfeng Honda.
