Daily review: Polyester Polyol Market Trends Remain Weak
On May 26, the polyester polyol market was weak. The reference price for AA/BG was RMB 12,000–12,800/ton, the reference price for AA/EG was around RMB 11,300–11,800/ton, and the reference price for AA/BG/EG was RMB 11,800–12,300/ton, all lower than the previous working day. The market price of the raw material adipic acid declined. Producers continued to hold firm on prices, overall supply tightened somewhat, and holders showed a bearish offering sentiment. Ethylene glycol prices fluctuated narrowly. After a sharp correction in the ethylene glycol market, combined with the recent strength in the coal market, futures moved sideways today.
Forecast for the near term: End-user and downstream purchasing willingness remains weak; actual deal negotiations are accompanied by price suppression, and overall trading volume is poor.
