800,000 tons/year ethylene project scheduled for mid-june handover, startup in september

At 6:58 a.m. on May 15, the key project of Fushun Petrochemical Company’s 800,000-ton-per-year ethylene unit debottlenecking transformation and energy-efficiency enhancement project — Furnace No. 9 cracking furnace — was moved as a whole by a self-propelled modular transporter. The furnace body, weighing 3,050 tons, traveled 201 meters over 90 minutes and was precisely positioned at 8:28 a.m., seamlessly integrated with the existing eight cracking furnaces to form a new unified whole.

The debottlenecking revamp and energy efficiency improvement project for Fushun Petrochemical Company’s 800,000-ton-per-year ethylene plant is a key project in Liaoning’s effort to build a trillion-yuan industrial base. The project is a systematic technical revamp and energy efficiency upgrade based on the existing facilities, with mechanical completion planned for June this year and startup scheduled for September.

It is reported that after the project is put into operation, Fushun Petrochemical’s annual ethylene production capacity will reach 950,000 tons, while its comprehensive energy consumption will decrease from 640 kilograms of standard coal per ton to 580 kilograms of standard coal per ton. At the same time, it will be able to increase the output of high-end products such as ultra-low-density POP and high-cleanliness large and medium hollow molding materials, further strengthening its competitive edge in the high-end new materials market.
