Fire at Sinopec Quanzhou Petrochemical Company: 7 Injured

On the evening of November 13, the Management Committee of Quanhui Petrochemical Industrial Park in Quanzhou, Fujian, issued a notification titled "Regarding the Fire Incident at a Unit of Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd." The full text is as follows:

On November 13, 2025, at around 4:30 PM, a fire broke out at the No. 1 atmospheric distillation light hydrocarbon recovery unit of Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Currently, 7 individuals have been injured and have been promptly sent to the hospital, with their conditions stable. There are no individuals trapped or missing, the fire has been brought under control, and the unit has been shut down. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

Zhonghua Quanzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (referred to as Zhonghua Quanzhou Petrochemical) is a key enterprise under Sinochem Energy Co., Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Sinochem Holdings Corporation. Established in September 2006 with a registered capital of 23.6 billion yuan, it is a large-scale refining and chemical enterprise integrating petroleum refining, storage, transportation, and sales. Quanzhou Petrochemical has completed the construction of two phases of projects, with a current crude oil processing capacity of 15 million tons per year, an ethylene production capacity of 1 million tons per year, and a total throughput capacity of 35.7 million tons per year at its self-owned terminal.
